At the Gosnagrad presentation ceremony, in honor of the 34th anniversary of Independence, the head of state clarified that before construction was carried out only by state order and the sphere did not develop at such a pace. Today, the volume of production of building materials has approached $ 6 billion, its press service reports the president’s words.

"Uzbekistan turned into a huge construction site. Only last year, construction work was completed in the amount of $ 23 billion - four times more than in 2016," the report said.

Mirziyoyev also noted that in the country over eight years, apartment buildings have been built in a total of more than 500 thousand apartments. This is four times more than in the first 25 years of independence, the president said.

Earlier it was reported that for the first time in many years the construction of the regional railway started in the Samarkand region. Samarkand with Urgut will connect the new path, its length will be 55 kilometers. The project provides not only the laying of the rails, but also the construction of two stations and two bridges.
