More than 850 billion soums will be allocated in Uzbekistan to upgrade old elevators.
According to the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, measures are being implemented across the country to improve the technical condition of elevators in apartment buildings and to ensure safe living conditions for residents.
As part of the interdepartmental platform “Safe Elevator,” a registry is being maintained of organizations that service elevator equipment. The registry includes data on permits issued for elevator installation and repair, their validity periods, as well as information on certified specialists.
A full inventory of 13,798 elevators installed in 5,491 apartment buildings has been conducted. The results showed that 2,001 elevators require complete replacement, and another 382 need repairs.
A total of 854.6 billion soums from local budgets has been allocated to implement these objectives.
