The process of housing renovation will be expanded in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – ​​AN Podrobno.uz. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered to increase the volume of housing construction based on renovation. Among the tasks is to provide housing for citizens in need of social support, reports a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

The order is contained in the decree on measures for sustainable development of the housing and mortgage lending market.

"Identify the main objectives of sustainable development of urbanization, housing market and mortgage in the Republic of Uzbekistan<...>a gradual increase in housing construction of the share of residential buildings built on the basis of renovation, as well as providing housing for citizens in need of social protection,” the document says.

In accordance with the decree, priority in housing construction will be given to unfinished facilities and industrial zones. At the same time, the principle of integrated construction is being introduced, which provides for the advance creation of engineering, transport and social infrastructure using environmentally friendly materials and energy-saving technologies.

Guarantees of the rights of property owners have been approved, including the absolute right to own land. Integrated construction programs will be developed on the basis of detailed plans providing complete information about land plots and real estate. The document is also aimed at preventing an imbalance between supply and demand for housing.

It was also reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered to double the amount of housing built annually and increase the portfolio of mortgage loans by more than ten times until 2040. It is planned that by this time the share of modern housing in the country`s housing stock will be 50%.
