In early March, Tashkent hosted the seminar on the preparation of the Safe City project to be implemented jointly with the German concern Siemens.

Guenter Overfeld, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan, attended the opening ceremony. The Ambassador emphasized that the implementation of this project will contribute to development of Uzbek-German relations.

In the course of the ceremony, there were demonstrated the examples of similar projects launched in Berlin, Dubai, London, and Lucerne.

The concern’s experts from Great Britain, Germany, United Arab Emirates, and Russia shared their experiences in implementation of modern technologies in the city infrastructure and discussed the application of innovative solutions.

Highly emphasized was the fact that the investments in the Safe City project are able not only to create a comfortable environment for the residents, but also contribute to the social, economic, and cultural development of the country.
