The region`s largest medical complex will be built in Fergana for $300 million

In Fergana regionwill builda new medical complex, which will become the largest healthcare project in the region. An 800-bed multidisciplinary hospital with advanced diagnostic and treatment infrastructure will reduce the need for treatment of citizens abroad. The total investment will be about $300 million, and construction is expected to take 36 months.

The tripartite construction agreement was signed by the Minister of Health Asilbek Khudayarov, the President and CEO of Vision International Investment Company Omar Al Midani and the head of KOS Construction Mekanik Elektrik Fe LLC Subutai Güzel. The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy in Uzbekistan, Marion Edel.

The new medical complex will unite five existing specialized institutions in the region into a single system. Residents of the Ferghana region and neighboring regions will have access to high-tech medical services, including cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, organ transplantation, nephrology and orthopedics.

The hospital structure includes intensive care and emergency departments with 160 beds, as well as all the necessary auxiliary clinical services.

A consortium of companies from Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan will be responsible for the full cycle of project implementation. Its structure was developed with the strategic support of the International Finance Corporation (IFC, World Bank Group) and financial assistance from the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The project is being implemented as part of the president’s decision to develop public-private partnerships in 2024–2030 and will become the largest healthcare facility in the region created under the PPP model.

Previously at the Fergana Institute of Public Healthopeneda new multidisciplinary clinic built on the basis of city hospital No. 2. The institution became one of the country`s first comprehensive Smart AI clinics equipped with artificial intelligence systems.
