“So that you don’t end up on taxes.” It is proposed to change the deadlines for calculating land tax for developers

“The President has solved very big construction problems that worry a lot of entrepreneurs and builders. He gave instructions that we meet with them more, study problems and make proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers,” the minister said in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.

Builders call wear and tear on construction equipment one of the most pressing issues. The minister recalled the positive experience of past years and proposed restoring previously existing preferences.

"In 2017werebenefits for three years, and at that time a lot of entrepreneurs brought equipment, and the industry grew greatly. And now it is morally outdated. And they proposed to give benefits again so that the industry would grow and so that builders would increase their special equipment,” explained Sherzod Khidoyatov.

Changing the terms of land tax

According to him, the current tax system puts developers under strict time constraints, which do not always correspond to the scale of the projects. The Minister proposed to differentiate the timing of the calculation of land tax depending on the area of ​​the property.

“Builders, when they build multi-storey buildings, residential and non-residential buildings, they have, for example, 100 square meters, or 1000 square meters. m, or 50 thousand sq. m - no difference. All have a two-year term. After two years, they begin to accrue land taxes. Because of this, there was a proposal that up to 10 thousand sq. m to be left for two years, and for more than 10 thousand - to increase the period by three years, so that they also complete large projects and so that they do not fall on taxes and the saved funds can be used for other additional projects,” the head of the department emphasized.

Responsibility for quality and salary growth

Special attention will be paid to the construction quality control system. To strengthen the role of technical supervision, the President ordered to increase the wage fund for specialized specialists.

“The respected president for customers gave instructions. Today, wages are somewhere on average 5 million soums. He gave the task to increase it threefold. So that [employees of] technical supervision receive 15 million soums and tomorrow they will be responsible for quality, so that there is demand and responsibility,” the minister said.

According to Sherzod Khidoyatov, statistics show the need to improve the efficiency of internal controllers.
