Construction of the Nurafshan-Yangier railway began in the Tashkent region

In the Tashkent region, construction of a new electrified railway line along the route “Nurafshan – Pskent – Buka – Bekabad – Boevut – Yangier” has officially started. Solemn ceremony of symbolic pile drivingpassedin two points at once - Urtachirchik and Bekabad districts.

The new transport artery with a total length of 110 kilometers is designed to give a powerful impetus to the economic development of the region. It is expected that the implementation of the project will create new jobs, expand transport and logistics services and strengthen connections between regions. The event was attended by the khokim of the Tashkent region Zoyir Mirzaev and the chairman of the board of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC Zufar Narzullaev, and representatives of Bekabad joined the ceremony via video link.

The project is distinguished by an innovative approach to design: the route bypasses populated areas and completely eliminates intersections of the railway with highways at the same level. This will not only improve traffic safety, but also minimize the impact on the environment. As part of the construction, it is planned to build four railway stations, 21 overpasses, six bridges and one traction substation.

Particular attention is paid to the integration of the new line with the infrastructure: in Bekabad, work is already underway to lay a connecting line to the Bekabad free economic zone (FEZ). Construction work will be carried out simultaneously from two sides - from Nurafshan and Bekabad towards each other. Upon completion of the project, the region will receive a modern, safe and environmentally friendly transport system, which will significantly increase the country’s transit potential.
