About $ 400 million will be spent on the construction and repair of roads in Uzbekistan

About $ 400 million will be allocated for the development of the network of international and domestic roads in Uzbekistan at the expense of foreign financial organizations, the correspondent reports Podrobno.uzThe President got acquainted with road construction projects throughout Uzbekistan as part of the development of the international and local road network.
In particular, the Asian Development Bank will allocate $240 million for the project "Construction of internal roads with cement concrete pavement". With these funds, 841 kilometers of cement-concrete roads will be built in Karakalpakstan and 86 districts of Uzbekistan with a population of 770 thousand people.
It is noted that the construction and technical supervision will be carried out by domestic contractors – private entrepreneurs and local engineers, and the main contractor will provide guaranteed five–year maintenance after the roads are put into operation.
It is also planned to reconstruct the narrow section of the international highway M39 "Alma-Ata – Bishkek – Tashkent – Shakhrisabz – Termez" in need of repair from 1255 to 1315 kilometers. It passes through the center of Dehkanabad district.
60 kilometers of a four-lane cement-concrete road will be built on the highway between Almaty and Termez, and a new 17-kilometer bypass road, 14 bridges and road overpasses will be created around the center of Dehkanabad district. Almost $154 million will be raised from the Islamic Development Bank and the OPEC Fund for International Development to finance the construction.
In addition, the list of public roads will be revised. The operation of 20 kilometers of highways in Karakalpakstan and in each region will be outsourced to the private sector as an experiment.
To improve the ecology of the regions, the President instructed to create forest plantations along the repaired streets in rural areas.
Recall that the reconstruction of the highways Pungan – Namangan and Tashkent – Chinaz may be entrusted to a Chinese company.
